Green K9
A green dog is a young dog that has not been started on any training yet. These dogs are selected for their genetic capability, attitude, and potential ability.
Started K9
This dog has already had the initial training done.
This can be either imprinted on odor, started on tracking, handler protection, or any combo of the above. These dogs are ready to pair with a handler and go through the handler course.
Finished K9
These are dogs that are experienced and street ready. Normally, these are dogs that lost their handler due to no fault of their own.
Our company likes to take a unique approach to training our canines and handlers, prioritizing quality over quantity in our programs. Unlike many other K9 training providers that churn out a high volume of canine units, MK9 takes a more thoughtful, meticulous method, carefully selecting and meticulously training each dog-handler team to the highest standards. Our training regimens are comprehensive and intensive, going far beyond the basics to instill an exceptional level of discipline, obedience, and real-world operational skills in both the canines and handlers. This deliberate, exacting approach ensures that our K9s are not merely competent, but truly elite - highly capable, responsive, and reliable partners for law enforcement officers in the field..Each canine is hand-selected for their exceptional drive, intelligence, and trainability, then put through an intensive regimen covering obedience, agility, and real-world scenario-based exercises to ensure they are in peak operational condition and prepared to perform at the highest level in the most intense and unpredictable situations.
Our training facility is on over 70 acres of high fenced property containing over 20 buildings so this allows us to create very unique training scenarios. We believe in learning to actually work K9s in more realistic environments is very important. Because of this we do not have our handlers sit in a classroom for hours on end. Anyone in law enforcement knows the real learning doesn't start until you're on the streets. Because of this, we have them run realistic drills in order to learn how to handle different environments, locations, and call outs. If your department would like to check our place out, give us a call to arrange an on-site tour.
MK9 encourages handlers to always call if they have any questions once they hit the road with their new K9. Lifetime support is always included with any dog purchased from us. If you already have a K9 and would like to further your training or need help, we are available anytime.

Our first handler's course of the year starts February 2025!
Our basic handlers course length depends on their K9s discipline and experience level. Handlers who attend this course tend to be brand new and will learn any and everything there is to know about properly handling their K9, training, case law, and street readiness. This can be anywhere between 4-12 weeks. Hands on instruction is what is provided 98% of the time.
The Advanced handlers course is a 2 week course that is designed for handlers wanting to continue their education after they have already had some initial schooling and street work. Everything from foundation work to advanced scenarios are covered in this course.
*We can come to you! Trainers traveling for the second week of the advanced handler's course is an option for Departments who would like to sponsor the course. The first week of training would be completed at our facility in Corsicana, TX and the second week would be completed in the sponsoring Departments area. Major discounts to the sponsoring departments handler are applied. Minimum course size required.
